Can you help finding out the writer, ?

Question

Within the last two weeks I saw an article in a magazine that said One new writer of children's books was about to 'push' JK Rowling and Harry Potter off the favourite's position. I cannot remember which magazine and I failed to take note of the writer's name. I realize this is quite vague but can you help please?

I don't know about new writer; but an old writer has done just that.
