Two of these stalks popped up between my tomato plants and before yanking them out, would like to identify them...they are about 4'-5' tall, broad leaves, and small bunches of berries, that are more blue than purple. I live in the northeast, specifically new jersey.

They are not pokeweeds, as I have identified those in another area of my yard.

Thank you!

    yank...destroy....

  3. This looks like a plant that came up in my garden after I used a "wildflower" mix I purchased from Walmart. Does the main upshoot branch turn red?

If yours are the same as mine... they develope huge, deep, thick wooden roots and then come up every year... multiplying.

I wish I could give you a name - but I fought to dig mine out, then took them to a spot that needed interest in my yard and replanted them. They grow every year - and I enjoy them... just not where they originated in my yard!

They have tiny white flowers, right? Take a sample to your local nursery - they should be able to help.

Remove them from around your tomato plants - because they will "bother" your tomatoes.

    Peace.

  4. Nightshade....don't eat the berries !!!
