  1. WAN stands for wide area network, which basically means there is a problem with your networking.  Make sure your cables are hooked up to the right ports; usually there will be an "in" port and several "out" ports.  You want the cable connected to the wall to be connected to the in port, and the cables connected to your computers to be in the out ports.  If this doesn't work, you may have a problem with your internet provider; try contacting them and asking if they know the solution to your problem.

  2. You need 2 straight CAT5 cables from router to computer, then a cable from route to your modem

  3. You might want to buy a wireless router if the computers are wireless. The router you bought might have came with a cd. Try to put that into your computer and do what it says.

  4. Thank you for the additional information.  Once you connect the cables from the router to the computer, you just need to configure your internet connection on your computer(s).   The method to do this varies somewhat between XP and Vista (XP - Start > Accessories > Communication > Network Setup Wizard).
