The play I'm auditioning for is The Boys Next Door. The director will probably gender-bend, and I'm auditioning for any and every part in the play. The play is about four disabled men living in a residential home under a fifth man, Jack. There are also other characters in the play (almost all disabled, as far as I can recall). The story follows the four disabled men through their everyday life, and also shows Jack burning out from having to look after them.

I'm a fifteen-year-old girl, but I can really do any monologue. Actually, a monologue for an adult would probably be best. It MUST be from a play, preferably a modern one that somehow relates to the Boys Next Door. Please no presentational monologues directed at the audience (speeches, etc.). My character should be talking to another character. It would also be nice if the monologue shows a range of emotion. But really, I'm being too specific. If you know a good monologue, please post it (and the play it comes from!). Thank you.

  1. I would go to http://www.monologuearchive.com/

You're the only one who can choose a monologue that's right for you, so I'd get searching.
