Can you help me convince my dad to let me go to Europe?

I live in America, and I really want to go on a trip to Europe.

My dad often has to go to France, Germany, and Spain for work. I came up with a plan that he could take me with him one time when he goes. His work pays for his hotel room so if I stay with him we won't have any costs there. I could pay for the plane ticket myself cause I have some money saved. I'd need him to pay for my food, and stuff but he doesn't mind that.

He's not completely opposed to the idea. He's thinking about it. The only problem is that because he's there for work he will be in meetings all day long and would only be able to be with me at night. He's nervous about letting me go off on my own in a foreign city during the day.

Can anyone think of anything I could do to convince him to take me?

BTW, I'm an 18 year old girl, and I can speak French if that makes any difference.

  1. If you're 18, go without him.

  2. remind him that you are an 18 year old not a 7 year old so you should be able to go off by yourself. think of it as a bonding trip whenever he gets off work you guys could go out and explore also.i think it would also be a great opputinty to explore another cultare (country) to see what they do diff than the u.s tell him that.

    anyway good luck!

  3. I actually can't think of a better way for him to feel comfortable about the situation...he'll be able to check in with you in the morning and evening. Paris is quite safe, so I think you'd be just fine.

Overall, you're going to have the best time abroad when you are a little older and there without parents. Either way will be a blast, though. Have fun!
