Can you help me find a good charity to support?

Recently, I've had a slight excess of money, and I would love to find a charity to support. I'm interested in a charity which distributes medical supplies or personnel to countries in need of aid. But if you have any charities to suggest instead, I would love to hear.

  1. Fresh Air Fund is great. People underestimate the great impact it has no young children. It funds trips for children from poor urban areas to visit the suburbs and the country during the summer. These kids usually have no safe places to play. It also helps them learn how to be independent.

  4. UMCOR--the United Methodist Committee on Relief has a good reputation and has a program to distribute supplies and work with the local people using their leaders and customs.  Doctors without Borders sends trained personnel to troubled areas.

  5. Food on Foot is an organization in Los Angeles that feeds the homeless and poor each Sunday.  They also have a program called Work for Food that helps individuals get jobs and get off of the streets.
