Can you help me find info on transport to port stephens by train from sydney and activities for a day?

hi. my frends and i want to go on a holiday for a day to gosford or port stephens. i just need info on train schedules or bus coaches since we wont be driving and we're a bit tight on budget. id realy love it if you would include some activities to do on the day. thanks much

For Port Stephens- portstephens.org.au for links to activities and transport. For Gosford etc.- centralcoastaustralia.com and cityrail.info for all train timetables.  If you only want a day trip I would suggest the Central Coast, it will take less time to get there and more time to enjoy your day.

get on train from sydney station go to newcastle just out of the station u can catch the bus to port stephen.

Ignore stephanie s.  Perth is some distance from Gosford, Sydney or Port Stephens.

There are no rail lines that run close to Port Stephens - Raymond Terrace may be the best you can do but you are still a ways from Port Stephens.  There is a station in Gosford, but it is underwhelming.

You may do better to find a day long bus tour - the rail lines are not necessarily close to touristy areas.

best place to look is www.transperth.gov.au thats the main transport in australia so they would be able to plan and tell you how much it will cost you.. also stoppin at sights and landmarks and taking happy snaps :D stop and have a picnic and stretch your legs :D i hope you have a nice trip
