I'm especially trying to find the Cherub series by Robert Muchamore

You might want to try craphound.com, which features several free downloads of novels by the novelist Cory Doctorow, including his current 'young adults' book Little Brother. It's in the New York Times bestseller lists, but you can also legitimately download it for free from his site.

For more general purposes, try manybooks.net, mobileread.com, gutenberg.org and feedbooks.com.

marlena marchettas "looking for alibrandi"[is much better as a book movie only gave half of what book gave readers ...especially regarding the suicide and love between her and 'wrong' boy]

and "a patch of blue" by elizabeth kata [more powerful as a book than the film done in 1965]

also one other i enjoyed as a teen was a book called "a simple twist of fate "[was based on an equally lovely steve martin film] the book the idea was developed from was called "silas marner "by george eliot
