I need two lines where the x's are and one last verse at the very end. Any help at all would be appreciated.

The streets are so dark, and

The lamplights are our only cover.

xxxxxxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxxxxxx

You cheeks turn a blushing pink color.

(chorus)

We’ll press the cold back

With the heat of our expressions

And we’ll spend our nights together

Sharing all our misimpression of life

The wind picks up, smell your perfume

I look at you, I’m on my guard

My pulse flat lines, not sure what I should do

I tell myself I’m over it

When the truth is that I’ve fallen so hard.

(chorus)

Blissfully unaware after I met you

I saw the looks you gave, but I

Forgot your love was long overdue.

The clock strikes one, two, three and four

I look for you; you’re headed for the door.

(chorus)

I know you’ll love I took the time

To write this song about you

And the best part is I know you think

I’ll come crawling back to you.

But that’s one thing that I’ll never do.

(chorus)

  1. soft rain falling all around

    mist veiling the two lovers

    and the last verse:

we've come so far and run so fast

    I've learnt my lessons well

I'm strong enough to walk away

    briskly without a backward glance

    strictly forbidding the second chance

  2. The streets are so dark,

    Moonlight exposes our only cover.

I caress your hands to my lips

to whisper how you've been my only lover

You[r] cheeks turn a blushing pink color.

  3. Firstly... no matter what the two missing lines are, the rhythm of the first verse is all wrong...

I would refer to the feelings of isolation in the streets, maybe rain, maybe a cold breeze... perhaps a link to the love that is mentioned in the later part of the poem...

Something like: I see your face in the bright white light,

eyes cold, like ice on the winter's night...

something physical... but that is my opinion only, of course. Good luck with completing the poem... it has promise.

  4. In the dim we stand

    Two lost lovers
