Can you help me fix my television?

not a big techy person, so not sure what to do. it's a sylvania, and this morning the pic is all static and moving lines. the cable still works cuz i ca hear it and see a little. it was working fine last nite, but now it's all weird. thanks if u can help!!

got a second tv you can plug to the cable and make sure its the tv and not the cable?  If not, call the cable co.

Give it a bit of a thump with your hand on the top of the tv.

Might sound a bit rough, and it probably is, but it tends to do the trick!

Did you have bad storms last night? We did in MI...It sounds like your service, not the TV. Do your other TV's in the house work ok? If so, then it may be your TV. It also may be squirrels outside biting on the wires outside.

Is it on every channel? If it's not the cable, see if the cable connection hasn't gotten loose.

First make sure the TV is on channel 3.

then depends on the connection from the cable box to the TV.  If it is the black round one with the little wire sticking out the middle, you may have to unscrew it then blow into it and then s***w it back in making sure not to damage the little wire sticking out.  If it is the five different color wire arrangement unplug the three colorful ones, not the white and red ones and then firmly plug them back in.  If it is the yellow, red and white one also unplug the only the yellow one and then firmly reattach.  same goes for the black thin one or s video just be careful its very finicky.  If that does not work, try pluging the wires into another input on the TV like the side or front.  Then use the remote to change the input.   After that you will have to call the cable company and see if the line is having problems.  

PS you can always buy the composite 5 color cables and attach them yourself to the cable box and TV its better than the big black 75ohm cable anyway.
