he has given up on hockey due to the fact that he cant afford it.

money has always been a problem, but i want a way to help him and let him not give up on this sport that he is so passionate about.

I was thinking maybe he can coach a team of little kids to play hockey, the problem is i dont know were to start.

i just need a way for him to get back into the field of hockey. some way some how.

  1. Well its hard to play hockey in California if you don't have a lot of money because you have to travel so much.

  2. hockey is an expensive game but i'm a refferee and it costs a bit to start but it pays for itself you get like 30 40 dollars a game and its the perfect way to stay close to the game without playing

  3. have him become a referee....they pay good money.  idk how old he is but the older the players are that he refs, the more money he can get paid.

  4. he doesn't have to play on a travel team. he can play on a house team = much cheaper

  5. I'd recommend him becoming a ref. My friend's bother, who is 18 now, is a ref. So you can't be too young to get into it.

Although I assume it is a little harder in California than it is in New Brunswick to find work as a ref.

  6. The guy above has a great answer and the pro refs make goos coin.

You di not mention where he's at.  There are enough people on here that you may get some goos specfic answers as to where he could start inquiring.

  7. well idk if he plays field roller or ice hockey. but whatever he plays look up local arenas. and e-mail them or something asking if they need some coaching help. hope this helps.
