Can you help me pass the driver's permit test?

Ok, I failed the driver's permit test I took last Friday, because I got 6 out 25 questions wrong. And to pass, they only allow you to get 5 wrong. One of my problems, is remembering the yellow lines, and which lines mean what. I also have trouble with remembering what to do when passing people, changing lanes, and the blind spots of trucks, etc. I need you all to post things about driving, and the rules of it. Not websites, just your own knowledge. Thanks so much. Of course you all know, 10 points for the best answer.

  1. First of all, the yellow line means not to cross because there are other cars traveling in the opposite direction on the other side. The White line means that you are following in the same direction as everyone else on that side of the road. Next, remember to check your mirrors when passing. My driving instructor taught me this acronym... M.M.S.S. ... (rear view) MIRROR, (side) MIRRORS, look over your SHOULDER, and SIGNAL your movement. My advice for trucks- try not to stay next to a truck. If at all possible, always try to pass the truck. Also, when taking the written test, the answers to the state law questions are either the longest answer or "all of the above"...Thanks!

  2. Everyone I know failed it the first time.  It's part of the right of passage that is getting your driver's license.

  3. didnt they give you a handbook to look at?  there is way too much to post about it.  I didnt even study for the permit test and i passed.  The tip that helped me pass was the right answer (most of the time and where applicable) is either the longest one or the shortest one.  I dunno,  someone told me that before I took it and along with common sense it helped me pass.

  4. that test is so easy, get it yourself

  5. yeah the longest answer is usually the right one, and if they have all of the above that is a good option....a double solid yellow line is no passing either direction, a solid yellow in your lane means you are in a no passing zone, one in the opposite side of the road is no passing zone for oncoming traffic. you should check your rearview mirror before you commit to passing someone, make sure the on-coming lane is clear, turn on your left signal, change lanes, make the pass, check your rearview mirror to make sure you're completely clear of the vehicle you passed, apply your right turn signal and re-enter your lane, cancel your turning signal. Blind spots on trucks is tougher, a rule of thumb is if you can't see yourself in their side mirror, they can't see you either. Changing lanes is making sure nothing is coming in the lane you are entering, check your rearview mirror to make sure no one is coming up behind you, use your turn signal. That's what I got. Hope it helps.

  6. study the first 3 chapter's of the Driver's Manual. i failed the first time because i was studying the wrong part. then i studied for the next 20 minutes' took it again and passed with 5 wrong:) for me it was more number's and stuff less rules of the road.

  7. Nope.  Getting by on your driver's by the skin of your teeth just ain't good enough.   This is stuff that HAS to be stuck in your head otherwise you will be in the middle of an accident(you being the cause of it).  I am not talking a minor fender bender - an accident in where, when and if you come out of the hospital you will never be able to drive again, let alone feed yourself, or walk, or wipe your butt for the rest of your life.
