  1. um, try this:  mar (like beginning of March)

                         tee  (like golf or drink)

ing  (end of sing)  = teeng

                         ya   (softly said)

                         Bree (like breeze)

on{g}    (say on with the back of your mouth, ending with a soft soft d or n sound...

just  a guess, (I've studied French, and lived in Haiti for a while, so it may be off... just try it and listen to how you sound

  2. I would disagree with parts of the others.  The "gne" is more of a "yeuh" like the o in wood.  Also the "i" in Briand is long (say "e") and the and is a nasal and in the throat.  You will stop though not finish it so it sounds like a nasal "on"... but don't finish the 'n' and keep it high in your throat if that makes sense (i.e. don't do the part at the end of an 'n' where your tongue touches the roof of your mouth.  Note that the "a" is like when you open your mouth and say "ahhhh"

So you have: Mar (like bar) + tea + ny-euh + bree + an.

I hope that helps pronunciation is hard to teach through writing especially if you aren't familiar with the phonetic alphabet.

  3. Mar-Teen-Yay   Bree-yond
