  1. You swap t and (-6) that's it. And then you cancel:

    2/-6 = -(2/6) = -(1/3)


  2. multiply both sides by t

    2=-6t

    divide both sides by -6

    -2/6 = t

    simplify

    -1/3 = t

    note: in a fraction, it doesn't matter which number has a the minus sign, if there is an odd number the whole equation becomes odd

  3. 2/t=-6

    1/t=-6/2

    t=2/-6

    t=-2/6 in words, t is equal to negative two sixths

  4. multiply each side by t and you get 2 = -6t. Then divide each side by -6 and you get 2/-6=t, in lowest terms - 1/3=t
