  1. Okay, so I don't use myspace, and that link didn't work, but i must say that having your dress professionally altered is not a waste of money.  And if you pin it, you will realize halfway through your wedding day why it is worth the money to have it done professionally.

It doesn't have to cost that much (I have no idea what your dress looks like), but if it's just a hem, I'm sure you could find a seamstress that would do it for a low budget.

Go to your local fabric store and ask the sales people if they would recommend someone.  They usually know their regular customers and know if they would do that type of thing.  You might be able to find a store employee that could do the alteration themselves.

I really advice against pinning your hem yourself.  It might seem like a silly expense now, but it will be too late when you discover it isn't on your wedding day.

  2. I don't do my space so I don't know what your dress looks like, but seriously having a dress altered to look good on you is not a waste of money.  Definitely don't pin it.

  3. If it is an 1" too long, buy higher heels.  Otherwise have it hemmed properly
