  1. YAZ!!!!!!

  2. Well, its normal so you don't have to worry about that. Try midol or pamprin. Whoever said Yaz is wrong because that is birth control that also relieves period pains but i don't think you need to go as far as birth control to relieve your pains. So just try midol or pamprin, even if you want you can just take tylenol.

  3. Not all girls have their period once a month. It is more common to have it every 20-28 days. But every 14 days could be your time frame. Also, you are 12 so your body is adjusting still and irregular times are normal and very common. I wouldn't worry too much, but mention it to your mom or doctor.

As for the pains, you could try medications like Midal, but they also sell other painkillers for menstrual cramps in drug stores such as CVS and Save-on.

    Good Luck

  4. A wide variety of factors can be responsible for irregular periods, among them:

    Significant weight gain or loss

    Over-exercise

Poor nutrition (or a diet too high in carbohydrates)

    Smoking

    Drug use

    Caffeine

Excessive alcohol use (interfering with how the liver metabolizes estrogen and progesterone)

    Eating disorders

    Increased stress

    Polycystic ovarian syndrome/estrogen dominance

    Uterine abnormalities (fibroids/cysts/polyps/endometriosis)

    Hormonal imbalance related to perimenopause

    Medications

    Chemotherapy

    Recent childbirth, miscarriage, or D&C

    Breastfeeding

What does it mean if I miss a period or two?

The most common type of irregular period we see at the clinic is anovulation, or a cycle in which a woman does not ovulate (i.e., does not release an egg). This is frequently the cause of a missed period (an anovulatory cycle) and is considered normal if it occurs only once or twice a year. Clotting is also considered normal if it is cyclic.

Sporadic episodes of poor diet, high stress, emotional trauma, illness, or strenuous physical exercise are the usual suspects behind occasional anovulatory cycles. Sometimes something as simple as a family holiday or a week with the in-laws will play havoc with a menstrual cycle. Monthly periods are quite susceptible to dips and spikes in our emotions and our health. For the most part, once our lives return to normal, so do our periods.

On the other hand, a woman will sometimes skip her period for a few months and then start a heavy period that lasts for days or even weeks. This can be a sign that a woman is entering perimenopause (see above).

More and more we are seeing patients of all ages who come into the clinic with irregular periods due to polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), an easily recognizable and treatable condition that frequently occurs with insulin resistance. With PCOS, the ovaries produce a quantity of follicles that generate high levels of estrogen but never release an egg. The excessive estrogen stimulates the uterine lining to thicken to a point where it must slough off. Women with this condition are not having what are considered “real” menstrual periods because they do not regularly ovulate. For more information, we recommend you start with our article on insulin resistance, where you will find other helpful links about this topic.

  6. TOTTALLY NORMAL

    HAPPEN TO MII LAST MONTH

  7. To help with the pain, take pain killers such as Tylenol.

    Good luck!

  8. okay Jessy,

When you get your period for the first time, its totally normal of how they come. They come irregular. You just have to let the cycle take course. It will be okay.

For the pain take midol or jsut plain old tylenol

  9. you're basically answering your own question when  you say "I'm 12."  You're just starting out, so irregularity is so so so so common.  Pains in the lower abdomen area are cramps... welcome to the world of Midol.  :)

  10. This is normal for some girls about your age. Take a pain killer (medication) to help fight the stomach pain.

If this continues, that's when you need to talk to your mom and have a chat with her about going to the doc. Sometimes when you growing up, you get problems once in a while during the teen years.

But I think you are OK. If it is burning pain, talk to your mom please. I am about 98% sure and any doctor will tell you to wait and see what happen in the next month. When you start your period, the first several months can be irregular.

I wish you all the best!
