What's the difference between having someone on my "favorites list" and having someone on my "friends" list? Why are there two separate lists?

  1. You can add someone as a "favorite" without actually inviting them to be a friend. If you find a page that you find interesting and enjoy reading their blogs, but don't necessarily want them to be on your friends list, you can favorite them and still have their latest content appear on your home page.
