Question:

Can you help me with an AVG problem?

Suddenly my AVG isn't working properly. I keep getting a message saying, "A.bin file missing'. I have performed a clean re-installation and am still receiving this error. It is not allowing my AVG to update. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this and what I should do to correct it?

  1. same thing happened to my dad on his computer... it's an international problem with AVG right now. they are trying to fix it, it's not just you. i guess you should just sit tight, or try contacting AVG.

in the meantime i would avoid any websites that you think may be harmful just to be safe.. hopefully the problem will be fixed soon.

  2. You might want to try another program. Go to http://netsecuritycentral.com and see if you find a better, more stable one.

  3. avg is not good antivirus or spyware program people still get viruses for it but if you use avira or avast with comodo then it will be hard for your pc to get infected i  use avast and comodo and no problems

    http://avira.com

    http://avast.com

    http://comodo.com

on pick one avira or avast

    but get comodo

  4. This is a known issue with AVG. They are working on it, but there is a fix that alot of folks are using. FWIW, AVG is a very good antivirus program.

    1) go to »www.grisoft.com/ww.download-update

    2) make a directory on your desktop called AVG

    3) download AVI: 270.6.4

    4) download IAVI: / 1616

    5) move the dowloaded files to the directory you made called AVG

    6) launch AVG

    7) select tools -> update from directory

    8) select the directory called AVG where you put the downloads

    That should do it.

  5. AVG is having problems right now. It'll probably be ok tomorrow.

  6. Good thing you asked. I was going nuts trying to figure out what was going on with the AVG program. I think i rely too much on this protection. I hope that it is fixed by tomorrow, like one of these other guys mentioned.

  7. Uninstall it and reinstall it again, that is a sure fix..and as someone elese said , avast is alot better, although i use kaspersky
