  1. in this case 2- Us too, but it 'd sound very pleasing and sophisticated if you say "so are we"

  2. You can say 2-Us too, but more commonly you'd say something like "So are we."

  3. Common usage: us too.

    Grammatically correct answer: ?

I would venture a guess that "we too" is correct because "we" is a subject and "us" is an object and people talking about themselves would, in this sense, denote themselves a subject.

We are going to the party too. :)  We too.

Us are going to the party too. :( Us too.

I don't think 3 or 4 are usable. You could say "and so are we" though.

Good luck! Sorry I wasn't too helpful. :/

  4. 2 - Us too

  5. Eh, in this situation, I've usually heard the reply "(and) so are we". Note that the forms "and so do" aren't used in the Progressive tense "-ing" forms. When saying something like "and so do we", you're implying something that's done habitually or something to that effect. So, in essence, if you said "We go to parties", you can reply "And so do we".

It's incorrect grammar to respond with an object pronoun in this instance. For example, it's incorrect to say "Carol and me are going to the party", even though you'll probably hear quite a few examples of this in everyday language. The correct way to say it is "Carol and I are going to the party".

Depending on your native language, the simple present might mean that you are planning on doing something in the near future or are in the process of completing that action. For example, in Spanish one could say "Nosotros vamos a la fiesta" lit. We go to the party. And it's acceptable to reply "Y nosotros también" (and so do we).

However, in English the simple present gives an impression that the action stated is habitual, rather than occurring at that moment or in the near future.

In this case, you need to respond in the present progressive by confirming that you intend to go to the party- i.e. "we ARE going to the party" or in its alternate form "and so ARE we"
