  1. 8y^2+1=6y

    8y^2-6y+1=0

    (4y-1)(2y - 1) =0

    by the zero property

    either 4y-1=0 or 2y-1=0

    y = +1/4 or y = +1/2

    this has 2  diferent  intercepts

    this isnt a double root problem.....

    a double root problem would be if (4y-1)(4y-1)

    what this means is that there is only 1  intercept and the grpah "sits" on the axis.
