Can you help me with laptop internet?

Question

Hey I'm getting a laptop for Christmas and was wondering if I could hook something up the my destop to get wireless internet. If not please tell me the best way to get internet to my laptop. Thank you.

if you live in the city you can probably steel (or hop on somones wireless network) which is not blocked with a wep pass code, or if you dont live in the city and threre is no life arround you you could just buy a wireless router and get on your own wireless network

You can have two options:

1.) Get a wireless router, either dlink or linksys and set it up as a wireless hotspot access point. If you want to boost the signal and have a lot more  wider wireless radius, you can hack your router using dd-wrt

2.) Since you alreay have your desktop connected to the internet, you can buy a bluetooth dongle and connect you laptop to the internet via bluetooth having your desktop share the internet connection

The best way to get internet on your laptop is wirlessly which can easily be done. Go on google and search for netgear wireless modems, obtain one, read the instructions and install it. The beauty of this modems is that you don't have to connect it to your desktop pc and you can still get wireless internet on your laptop. Every laptop has wireless connectivity, so what you need to do is go to network connnections on your lappy, and you should find wireless network connection. Click on it and search for wireless networks  you should see the netgear modem you installed, and connect to it. Hope this helps
