  1. Goldfish produce a lot of ammonia. It's okay (but not recommended) to have one in a bowl, but they really should have a filter especially if you're gonna have more than one. A water conditioner is also a good idea. A betta is pretty much the only fish that will be okay in just a bowl.

And no you absolutely don't need 20 gallons for one goldfish. I promise! One gallon for every inch of fish is the general rule but not always necessary. You could go to petsmart (or probably any other pet store) and get a goldfish kit. It's like 30 bucks and it has everything you need to keep goldfish alive and well. Good luck!

  2. are you sure they arent feeder fish like rosies or something? They die quick. also a bigger aquarium an airstone and filter will help. I really dont think you bought actual goldfish though. if they cost less than like 2 dollars each they are feeders for oscars and other carnivorous fish. Also if you had 11 and 4 died there should be 7 left. I guess you have a dissapearing fish in there too lol!

  3. i am going to guess they are common/comet/feeder/carnial goldfish

11 need a minimum aquarium size of 200 gallons realy

    if there fancy

they need a minimum aquarium size of 150 gallons

    they grow over a foot

you need to do reaserch before getting any pet

  4. First you should get a larger tank like a 10-40 gal, in make sure that you don't put sink water in the fishes aqaurium because it holds chlorine in other hard elements which the fish cant take, so buy either water conditioner or aqaurium salt i perfer you to buy both if your lookin for long life of these gold fish happy fishing hoped i helped

  5. Goldfish require 20 gallons for the first fish and 10 for each additional fish.  Does that give you any idea why they are dieing in a bowl?
