Can you help me with my peace lily plant?

We went away on vacation and watered our peace lily before we left. We returned in a week and it is severely wilted and drooping badly. In the past, I have watered it and it has revived within a day or so. Not so this time. Is there something else I can do? I really don't want to loose this plant, it's the only one I've ever been able to grow!! I've been growing it since my 1st child was born. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank You!

  1. My peace lily also drooping and severely wilted, I placed jobe spikes  and watered as normal and left it alone for a few days and then watered it sparingly for a few day continuing the procedure until its leaves finally were perked up. I guess you could say I had to baby the plant back to health.

  2. I would take it outside and water it really well until water is running out the bottom.  Do this a couple times being sure that the whole surface of the pot is getting watered, not just the center.  Then let it drain well before you bring it back inside.  Keep it in the shade while you do this.  It should recover, though you will probably lose a few leaves that turn yellow.

  3. Take the plant, pot and all, and immerse it in a bucket of water.

Remove it when the air bubbles stop surfacing.

If the plant got severely dried out it might need this type of watering to help revive it.  Peace Lilies are very forgiving if you forget to water them.  It should bounce back.

  4. If you have it in a bright, sunny spot, move it to a shady location until it can "get back on its feet." Make sure too that you are not over-watering. They don't like to be in a puddle. They are quite easy to grow and don't require much attention. When I was in your circumstances, I took a piece of the plant off at the root and started a new plant, so I would always have the plant that was significant to me.

If you feel the soil and it's damp, don't water that day.

I hope you can get the lily back to good health. Take off any dead leaves it may produce along the way.
