Ok I have voce é muito especial para mim as my name on messenger I know what that means but my brazilian friend said I really should have "pra" instead of para cause para is very formal. What does he mean exactly by that?

He means you must use "pra" insteed "para" but he is wrong in saying "para" is very formal,when you're writing you should write "para" and when you're speaking you can use "pra"."pra" is the abbreviation of "para" like in English we have the words "is" and "not" that together becomes the abbreviation "isn't"!

But if you're writing in a messenger you can use "pra" for to abbreviate like in English we use "4" replacing "for"!
