Okay so I have to read Chronicle of a Death Foretold for my english class. I'm over half way done with the book, I just finished chapter 3, so I'm on page 72 right now. I don't really understand the book. I know that the main character is Santiago Nasar and that he was murdered by these twins the day after the wedding for some unknown reason. Also are they at court telling all this? I seriously have no idea what's going on, so can some one please help me? You only need to tell me up to chapter 3, because that's what I just finished.

  1. Chronicle of a Death Foretold is written from a variety of viewpoints, all of which differ in some way.

Everyone knew a murder would occur, and everyone reacted to that knowledge in different ways, each presented by Marquez.

You will find out why he was killed. You may find out more than one reason (people [witnesses] are bad about facts surrounding murders), but suffice to say he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the wedding itself is the biggest clue, since you're at Chapter 3.

The culture + the wedding = the girl had better be pure.
