Can you help me with this math problem?

So I did the graph for the problem but I'm having issue with the X and Y intercepts!

How can I find the X and Y intercepts?!

The problems are y=x-6 and y=x^2-9

Thank you in advance!

  1. Okay, look I think its better teaching you how to do it.

    So that you can solve all future problems :)

    Read carefully here.

    To find the X intercept, you always put the equation at y=0

    So, y=x-6. Tell yourself 'If Y=0, what is X?' The answer is 6. So the X intercept is 6 :D

    To find the Y intercept, you just do the opposite, put x=0

    In y=x-6, when x=0, what is Y? The answer is -6.

    So the X intercept of y=x-6 is 6 and the Y intercept is -6.

    Try it yourself for the next question. Its really easy.

  2. y=x-6

    the y intercept is just -6

    y=x^2-9

    -9

    if u put x= to 0 then u can find the y intercept

  3. Enter x = 0 and y = 0 into both equations

    so y = x -6 becomes y= -6 and 0=x-6 --> x=6

    so coordinate are (0,-6) and (6,0)

    y=x^2-9 becomes y=-9 and 0=x^2-9 --> 9=x^2 --> x=3

    (0,-9) and (3,0)
