  2. You need to consider what you want the camera for. Do you want to do serious photography, or just snapshots of your friends and family. If it's just snapshots, then just about any name brand camera (Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony, Kodak, Casio, Ricoh) should do. Don't be seduced by the Megapixel rating - for snapshots anything with at least 2 megapixels will be fine - that means just about anything these days. So you can make your decision on price alone - look for a good sale.

The only caveat I would have is on Olympus and Sony models. They are fine cameras, but they use memory cards that almost no one else uses. So if you want to get a different camera later, the cards may be useless. That said, camera memory cards are pretty cheap these days.

  3. sony cybershot dsc-w55 i have it and i am very pleased i actually love it lol if you want anymore  advice email me

  4. Canon PowerShot A720 IS. Sometimes this camera is on sale for $180.

If you can't find the above at your price, then:

    Canon PowerShot A570 IS

or may be you'll find this one for sale:

    Fujifilm FinePix F31fd

    Good luck!

  5. I concur with your first answer. Beach Camera has it for $144-+ shipping. You will still need to buy a memory card. It's 4X optical zoom, 7 megapixels, and has image stabilizer for shaky hands. Can set controls manually or just leave on auto. The Canon PowerShot A570 IS.
