Can you help out my 7 year old son with Animal Crossing?

My 7 year old son is stuck at a point in his Animal Crossing game for Nintendo DS. I don't know a whole lot about the game, so please bear with me. He can't seem to get past Chow. I guess he is supposed to set up a time for Chow to come over to his house? But no matter what time my son puts in, Chow tells him it is either too early, or too late, and to try again. My son is getting pretty frustrated, can any of you guys help him out?

Try to set the time an hour or more,like if it was 6:00 tell chow to come over at 8:30.Hope I helped!

The little animal people are different in every kids' game card, but I get the gist.  The animals prefer to come over about an hour after the time they ask.  An hour and a half might be pushing it.  Hope this helps!
