Can you help with my hdtv?

I have a 42 inch hdtv. All of a sudden the picture is smaller. There's a picture size button on my remote,but it makes the picture too big and the heads are cut off. Can anyone help me? Thank you

the picture size button controls your aspect ratio.  it sounds like you have it set to "zoom."  the "normal" setting will have black bars on the sides and/or top and bottom of your picture.  if you want it to fill your screen, hit that aspect button a few times to cycle through your options until you find one called "stretch" or "fill."  the "stretch" option will do exactly that.  it takes the broadcast picture and stretches and compresses the picture to fit your screen.  at first you may notice that the people on tv will look a lil short and stout but usually overt time you will get to the point where you wont even notice it.  if that dóesn't work there should be an option in the tv's menu to change the aspect ratio as well usually under setup or picture.
