I want to have a package held at the post office so I can go and pick it up myself rather than it bing dropped off at my home? It is a present and I don't want anyone to open it up.

So can I have one package held at teh post office for me to pick-up?

  1. The minimum amount of time that you can put your mail on hold (all of your mail) is 3 days.

  2. If you are sending it to yourself or having it sent to yourself, you can have it sent to "General Delivery" and then you can go pick it up yourself at the post office you had it sent to.

This is my help from Washington, D.C.

  3. If you were to do as the above answer says...you had better contact the local post office beforehand. The larger the office the more difficult it would be to make sure everything goes smoothly. It might be a better idea to have the package shipped to your workplace.
