  1. yes you can i know people who have done it the wiring may be tricky and they might not fit into the exsiting spots in your car where your old speakers were honestly just get car speakers it will look and sound better

  2. ha yeah, i once did it in my old 88 toyota pickup. if you do this it will ruin the home speakers though so be aware of it. What you do is simply cut the cord that you would normaly plug into the unit ( the tv, dvd player ect.) then strip the wire cover so you can get to the actual wires. Next you need to cut the power cord and basicly do the same thing. Once you have all the wires stripped your gonna pull out your radio and find the black wire the white wire and then 2 blue and 2 green wires. just strip the black and white wires on the radio then wrap the wires from the power cord of the speakers to the designated color. Once done get the wires the plugged into the player (dvd, tv ect.) then do the same thing just with the blue wires and the green wires. it may take a few tries till you find out which one goes to the blue wire and which goes to the green wires but once you find it your done. Just wrap the exposed wires with some electrical tape so nothing touches the wires and messes stuff up. put the radio back in and put the speakers where ever you want.

EDIT: as for an amp or powering issues, i had none when i did it. I put a set of logitec speakers and a sub in my truck and i never noticed a lack of power from my battery or anything else. I had the stock sterio in it so it obviously wasnt the most up to date thing.

  3. well, depending, usually home speakers are 8 ohm. and car are 4... it might not be the best for your speakers but it prob will work. just take your old ones out, and wire them to the home system

  4. Yes.  Speakers are speakers.  Just make sure their ohms level doesn't put your amp below it's capable levels.

  5. If you are contemplating putting a set of home "box" type speakers in your car, there is something to think about. There have been numerous people severely injured by such speakers in an accident. If you do install them, make sure they are securely attached to the vehicle.
