  1. What you have is one coax cable coming into your house from your DISH and then a second coax cable from the LOCAL CABLE COMPANY.  In turn, the dish's cable runs into your DIRECTV box and the local cable company hooks their coax into the HD cable box you're "renting" from them.

All the wires from outside your home are already in place.  What you must do now is connect both the DirectTV box AND the HD cable box to your Mitsubushi.  A television that nice would have plenty of open connections on the back to handle an HD box from both your satellite provider and local cable company.

  2. Direct TV is satellite, so you already have a set-top box. So connect the output of that box to one of the TV inputs.

Connect your HD cable box to the TV to another tV input (use HDMI or component for all HD)

If you have cable without a set-top box, connect it directly to the RF (ANT/Cable) input of your TV.
