  1. Ever stuck to a leather chair while wearing shorts?  Think of that and then multiply the pain by ten, you will get sores riding in shorts and you should NEVER EVER wear flip flops at a farm.  There are all sorts of nasty things on the ground to step in and it's a great way to get your toes crushed by a horse.  Long pants, without a seam along the inner leg is best, will prevent you from getting saddle sores and sturdy boots with a quarter to half inch heel will prevent you from getting your foot caught in the stirrup.  These are the basics of horseback riding along with wearing an ASTM/SEI certified riding helmet.

  2. ts not the best idea... i once did it on shorts, tenis, a wild horse and a wet old sadddle.. it let me permanent 1 inch scars on each leg :|

  3. you can, but its like saying can i run a marathon barefoot. possible, but its gna hurt.

  4. DON'T DO IT, you will have soars and it will chafe your legs up bad!

  5. If you're just going to walk like on a trail ride, shorts are ok.  It's a much better idea to wear jeans, but if you want to wear shorts, it's not going to be that big a deal.  If, however, you plan to trot, canter, or do anything other than sitting still on a walking horse, you should definately wear pants.  The leather rubbing against your bare skin will hurt a lot.

As for the flip flops... that's a really bad idea.  If you're riding, they could fall off.  And if you're walking around the horses and you accidentally get stepped on... that wouldn't feel good.  Even if you're wearing shorts, do yourself a favor and wear tennis shoes.  Ideally, you'd wear boots, but at the least, wear tennis shoes.

  6. yea... but it gonna hurt , and your legs will get sores

    never NEVER wear flip flops

    boots or at least tennis

  7. h**l  you can ride in the buff if you want.  But its not a good idea.  Put on a pair of jeans and sneakers

  8. do NOOOOOOOT try 2 ride in shorts - you'll get terrible burns on your legs.  i wear halfchaps and still get rubs sometimes.  NEVER wear flipflops riding horses either, or even if you're just hanging out in a barn.  if a horse steps on you its gonna really hurt.  just try jeans and some boots - have fun riding:)!!!!

  9. Nope ,, and most stables WILL NOT allow you to wear filp flops

    silly

You must be a beach girl ,free spirit ?

It will break your spirit,, when you come home with broken toes and sore;s on your legs

Just be a "'COWGIRL FOR ONE DAY """ LOL

    Don't forget the HAT ????

  10. you can ride in shorts but the leathers of the stirrups will rub your skin raw. and dont wear flip flops, thats very dangerous. wear flat shoes or boots with a small heal and no trenches in the sole. a flat sole will be good.

    have fun

  11. well, you can,but um,you don't want to.when people ride with me they have to have jeans.boots are preferable, but if that is absolutely not an option, sneakers.also,a helmet.i don't care how good the horse is-wear it.
