  1. been 3 times and i can skate without falling

  2. very good darlin... you have passed the most important part of skating... courage.... over coming your fear.. this is the most important thing... i started ice skating in the winters growing up in up state NY on snow covered flooded woods.. it was a challenge to skate on ice with sticks comming out of the ice in different places and in a pair of skates that were 3 sizes too big for me but i tried any way...

later when i was about 5 i started roller skating. my mom and older sister taught me how and i took to like a pro... course i was little and didnt have very far to go when i fell on my butt lol. but it was fun. my family didnt see the potential i had on skates so i was tossed aside and my other siblings were treated to lessons in various differnt feats... like music, snow sking, boating etc. i was the middle child of 7 so i was ignored. i skated from the time i was 5 yrs old till present and still do to day. i am now 46 and still love to skate... though all the rinks are now gone (with the last one here closing a few months ago) so sad. i remember getting ready for a competion when i was 18 (i had paid for my lessons on my own and found ways to get to the rink by my self with out my familys help)  and about a month before the competition i found out i was with child and wasnt aloud  to skate again till after they were born :((... i did teach both of my children to skate but they didnt have the love for it that i did...

roller skating is a dying breed now but ice skating can take you to the olimpics...

so keep dreaming and keep skating as often as you can and when you get to a point where all you can think about is ice skating then you are an ice skater...

good luck and make it more fun than work and have a blast... and remember you are never too old to skate

    cheers

    mystic.

  3. I fall down quite a bit, usually when I'm trying something new. Don't be scared of falling. If you feel yourself going try and relax and land on your bum. It hurts less that way.  Try not to look  down at your skates too much as that can overbalance you.

Oh and have fun.  I do. My first time was when I was 17 (I'm now in my 40's)

  4. Yes, I can skate . . . though I haven't been in about 4 years now!!!

Congratulations for graduating from the wall!  Wooo hooo!  As long as you keep challenging yourself - you'll be surprised how far you can go!!  Keep up the good skating practice . . . you'll be skating like everyone else - and perhaps beyond!!!

    Have fun!!  :)

  5. Well the first part of learning how to  skate is to fall. I can roller skate and roller blade but I never went ice skating though. But I assume that if I can roller blade then I can ice skate. Believe me. I just leaned how to skate 1 year ago but I guess I can say I'm really good. The first time I went skating, one of my BFF's was really supportive. Oh, some advice: take it step...by step.....

  6. Ha, you were a wall hugger? ^^ Well thats alright. Most people start out like that! Just practice and little bit and you'll be alright. Ice-skating is not as hard as people make it out to be. However, figure-skating on the other hand... xD

  7. yes i'm a figure skater so i kinda have to lol ^_^

  8. yes! i absolutely LOVE it.I'm 15.once I'm out there I never wanna stop.I just started taking lessons and wow it is like the funnest thing ever.you should see if your ice skating rink has Basic Skills/ Learn to Skate lessons. alot of ice skating rinks around the country do.you might be stuck with a bunch of little kids at first.but it is still .loads of fun. :)

  9. Yes I am a figure skater and in 1 year I have made it all  the way to free style 5 which is the highest level in the public ice rink I go to. It's lots of fun and if you concentrate on it, you can become pretty good.

  10. I skated since i was 4.

  11. i can skate!! :D I've been skating for a year now..

  12. I can ice skate!!! Yesterday i had my USFS test, and i'm now in Basic 7 of the USFS Basic skills program! I am so happy, although i seem to be having problems with my waltz jump lately which is kind of weird.....

  13. I have been skating all my life i know some awsome moves i was 2 when i stared and i stayed to the wall too

  14. i used to be able to. i used to take lessons as a kid.  I could spin and stuff, but i haven't been in years and have no idea if i still can.

i took up snowboarding, and it won my heart.

i guess i've always loved cold winter sports :P

as far as your iceskating, you just have to relax and be confident. you are probably looking down because you are scared, but looking down won't help, only hurt.  you want to look where you want to go,like driving.

  15. i can ice skate ... i been skating for 5 years :)

dont worry about falling over everyone does it.. even i do, i fell over twice in an hour once because i was hyper and ice was wet

  16. I went once when I was about five and I've never been back. Needless to say I didn't learn in that short time.
