Can you identify crimes that are deviant but not criminal? and what about crimes that are not deviant?

  1. Crimes that are deviant but not criminal. This does not make sense. If it is a crime, then it is a crime. Do you mean crimes that are deviant as opposed to those that are not?


  2. Are you referring to the term "deviant" to mean "status offense"?

    If so, a status offense is a "crime" that persons, below a certain age, can be punished for.

    Examples of status offenses:

    1) Truancy

    2) Running away from home

    3) The purchase/use of tobacco products

    4) The purchase/use of alcohol

    5) Curfew violation

    These "crimes" do not apply to persons over specific ages.

      

  3. If they aren't criminal.... they aren't crimes.
