This bird is driving me crazy at night with its chirping. Any thoughts. SE Michigan area.

Crickets or locusts.

Nothing really. They are part of the wonderful sounds of the country. There are lots of them outside right now just chirping away.

There isn't really anything you can do about the sound unless you close the windows really tight and wear earplugs. It's kind of soothing once you get use to it. Summer nights aren't the same without them.

Actually, it sounds like a locust. We have tons of them where I live, and they chirp together all night long. It's actually quite pretty once there is a whole chorus of them. However, due to the other sounds in the tape that drown out the chirping, so I may be wrong.
