  3. theyre right, practice!

    but really, im an instrument player and i have been for about 13 years. to play longer lasting notes, you have to know how to hold the note for however long. so your breathing techniques get better. but try picking up an instrument!

  4. Here's the perfect site for you. On the message boards there are all kinds of training techniques to help you improve your times from beginner to expert. These guys are fanatical about it. Many of them are over 4 min with their diving.

  5. First, do lots of underwater swimming across the breadth of the pool.

    With practice you may manage two or three continuous breadths.Take each other's breathhold times.  Challenge with two or three friends who are good swimmers. Make sure you release some air towards the end while underwater, and do not push yourself too hard until you become dizzy.

    Secondly, if you have big balloons practise blowing them often. This is to strengthen your chest muscles and diaphragm. Take your breath-hold on land--it should be much longer than in the water.

    Your breathhold should be great after a month of training. Cheers!!
