  1. This sounds like an interesting project. I can see why it might be a beautiful thing, and a conversation piece, but I can also see a whole lot of problems.

To answer your question: sure, you can do this.

However, you really have to do some very serious thinking about what you're doing.

Those ponds can leak, and they can contain quite a bit of water. What would happen if a leak occured and you didn't notice it right away?

How will you empty the pond to clean it, move it, or disassemble it?

How will you deal with the water that will condense on the bottom of glass tabletop? (There will be a lot, and it will always be there.)

What are you going to put under the pond? They're designed to have sand under them.

How will you deal with insects and other household pests who end up in the pond?

How will you power the pump? Are you just going to have an extension cord running to your coffee table?

Maybe this isn't what you really want. How about a nice aquarium?

  2. You can do anything you want if you set your mind to it :)

I have thought about doing this myself.

Check this link out. It'll explain one way to bring an outdoor pond inside you will need to adjust the dimensions to fit your home.

Under a coffee table is kinda ill advised. Not too much room to store the pump and related mechanics.
