  1. Yes you can, but you do have to determine the soffit line prior to installing your last pc. of siding. Level back from the bottom of your fascia board at each end - go down from those marks the thickness of your soffit j-channel. Now snap a chalkline across the house wall.

This is where your top undersill trim will be. You cut your last pc of siding, use a slot tool to form a snap ridge in the last pc of siding - push it up into the undersill trim and it will lock in place.

We usually run a 2" x2" back on the wall for a soffit nailer - this will be level with the wood fascia board - I suggest you go ahead and put that on even on the gable ends.

The only thing you need to note is if you are using corner posts and box in the ends where rake and eaves meet - this takes a little thinking - I would put up the framework to box your corner eaves in so you know exactly where they will terminate.

  2. Absolutely. Your eaves will butt to the siding.

  3. The soffit should be done first. If you are going to use a maintenance free soffit all you need to install is the receiver for your soffit. i.e. J-channel or F-channel. Good Luck
