I'm a senior in high school, when I go to college I'm going to double major in Communications and Journalism.

I want to intern at a newspaper AND a fashion PR firm. Are you allowed to have two internships at once?

  1. I'm sure you'd be allowed to. But it's not very realistic to think you'll have the time to do two internships at once. Maybe do the newspaper one for a summer, then the next summer, do the PR firm.

  2. Are you allowed to? Schools don't generally have anything to do with an internship unless you're doing it to earn school credits. Would you be able to? Probably not. Internships are demanding, depnding on the place at which you do them. Newspapers could have more flexible hours, but if you were to intern at a PR firm, you would probably have to work a 40 hr week like a regular job. So I doubt you have time to do both. Even fi you could, you would run yourself ragged and most likely be unable to contribute much to either job. You'd be much better off doing one during a summer, THEN doing the other one the next summer.

  3. It shouldn't be a problem as long as everything fits within your schedule. At my University you can have more than one internship. To be sure, meet with your advisor and discuss it.
