I'm 20 yrs old and I'v done some silly things in the past which I regret alot and I'v done time in prison.

I'v been out of jail for about 6 weeks, I'v moved away from my old friends who used to get me in alot of bother but I don't have a proper job but I do voluntaree work, I'v also met a really nice lass who I suppose I could call my girlfriend, she keeps me out of trouble and keeps me focused on achieving positive things .

Anyway, I'd like to join the Army and get my life back on track, will my criminal record stop me from joining?

  1. I'm not sure but I do believe that it depends on the severity of the crime. Your best bet would be to get in touch with your local recruitment office who can advise you further.

  2. In the same boat as you. I checked it out and was told I would have to wait a bit longer - was in for ABH. But then I got done for drink driving so I think I've blown it. Hope it works out for you though.

  3. no but you can join the french forien leagen sorry about the spelling

  4. yes you can join the army with a criminal record but as long as the conviction(s) is spent, there is no prosecution pending and you do not owe any court fines or compensation.

  5. give it a try

  6. If not, there's always the French Foreign Legion.

  7. They look at you as an individual so try to stay out of trouble and talk to your armed careers person and talk to the army about it...gd luck

  8. im not totaly sure...they may put you in a special division or squad for the ones with criminal record, and not in the more significant or popular divisions, but im not positive...hope this helped
