  1. They will check your credit and run background checks.  They will also ask around about you from your old neighbors.  They do all of this to see if your a stand up kind of person.  They want honesty, integrity, and all that.  They will check to see how much money you owe.  If you owe a lot of money it'll hurt your hiring process because you're at risk for taking bribes.  But, standard police don't care as much about your past and financial situation as the FBI or US Marshals do.

  2. That's rubbish

you should look on their website for current recruitment campaigns, there are a number health restrictions and other criteria.

  3. Having a sound financial background, ie not bankrupt etc is a requirement due to the incresed risk of corruption when money is waved infront of someone who needs it.

That said it could also have something to do with you needing to be financialy sound to cope with delayed pay deals, pay increses not being back dated and perdentage increses lower than any other public sector worker and a fraction of the rate of inflation!

  4. Sure, you can join the police, but why would you want to make a career out of being a trouble maker?

Or are you just greedy like the rest of the liberals in this country?

  5. Credit is way down near the bottom of  the list of things that the Police are looking  for in potential recruits.

    At the top are .

Education. Physical fitness, and mental stability.

Further attributes will be maturity, the ability to think creatively, patience, language skills, and computer skills,  along with a enquring mind.

For every  100 applicants  that  may apply, most Police services will only wind up taking 10 to 15 , for the training course, and a further 4 to 6 of them will fail the initial  recruit course.

So, unless you have a good education  ( a University degree is best ) and are in superior physical condition, you probably won't get past the first interview.

One of the things that trips up most young people is the need to provide at least  10  personal  references,  that are not  from familiy members.

    Jim B. Toronto.

  6. In order to join the Police, certainly where I work, you have to not have any unpaid debts or be currently bankrupt.  This doesn't include the 'normal' run of the mill debts such as a mortgage and loans.  As long as you have kept up the repayments, there shouldn't be a problem.

I know colleagues who have large student loans that they are paying back and similar debts.  This is fine as long as the payments are up to date.

If you were behind with payments, this would be a bit of a 'slur' on your integrity, which is a big issue if you are a Police officer.

  7. i cant. im only 15 =[

  8. i think that anyone can join but i think that you SHOULD have good credit to join

  9. The correct answer is that your credit IS important when you apply. Think about it. If you don't pay your bills or tend to get way overboard, it may show that you (1) don't have good sense, (2) may become an embarrassment, and (3) may come to need money so badly that you do bad acts or are open to corruption. Credit problems in the past can be overcome, if your history over the latest years is good or you're steadily seeing to your obligations. How long depends on the specific problems.

  10. You need to have good credit and a superiority complex + no friends.

  11. Azong az ur a prick n a grass n like assaulting the public your in good luck no palz..
