Question:

Can you judge makeup from the case?

I just got a case of foundation from a relative and I can see the color from the see-through case. It looks just a little lighter than the shade I usually use, but from my little makeup experience, it's usually lighter when you put it on. Is this true?

  1. some times ,the cheeper brands will rub in better so that u can not see the colour diferance much ,but the more expensive ones u have to get the exact colour or it will look horible.         :)  :)  :)

  2. not always

  3. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't judge it from the case.

Actually, among the cheaper drugstore brands usually the shade is DARKER than it appears.. which is such a disappointment, and it usually turns out some disgusting shade of orange.

Among good quality makeup, usually it is a little lighter or exactly the same shade. It looks a little darker in the case probably because the large quantity in there makes it look darker (or the case isn't exactly see-through, it might be a little bit colored).

If you test it out, do so on your hand or arm. Make sure the color of your skin is the same color as your face (sometimes your face or arms/hands may be more tan or even a different tone/more olive or red in complexion).

  4. There's nothing wrong with always testing you foundation. It's the only way to get the best results. One way to do this is place a small amount on your arm  and work through. this way you can see how well the color blends and the amount it takes to cover.
