Lets just say the state of Maine had historical ties with Canada and Maine declared their independence from the United States. Should the United States attack Maine to restore its territory? would Canada be in the wrong for supporting Maine militarily?

  1. ya'll just typical AMERICANs, there are over 2000 people dead in Osetia after Georgian attacks and u guys are talking about Solar and Wind Energy? You guys are stupid or what ? Go and get yourselves another group that will talk about solar power

  2. it's a case of Putin pootin' in GWB's general direction.

  3. No. Georgia is an independent country and was originally conquered by force. That's a big difference. Maine joined the USA of its own free will. But there is not much the USA can do because we have wasted so much money and power in Iraq.

  4. Hint:  When the world's attention focuses on a town you never heard of before, the justification is almost always oil.  Imagine how much less rich and powerful Russia would be if Europe and the U.S. were powered by solar and wind energy.  We wouldn't want that, though.  That would make too much sense.  As to your hypothetical question, it's a bit confusing and hard to answer.  If the state of Maine had historical ties with Canada, why would it be part of the U.S. in the first place?  If Maine had oil, Canada and the U.S. would both want it to be theirs and they would both fight for it.  If it didn't, neither would care.
