Can you keep garden seeds in the freezer?

We put the garden seeds we have left over in the freezer for the next year will thay still work? We are haveing some trouble with some of the seeds this year and I just whated to know if that was why?

  1. There may be some seeds that can survive freezing, but my bet is that you've made them inviable by freezing them.

    Go ahead and plant them anyway if you want - certainly no harm in trying.

    The best way to save seeds is cool (not frozen), dark, and dry.  A garage, or basement works well.  I use paper envelopes.  Avoid plastic, as any excess moisture could mean you get mold.
