you can start to have symptoms within a week but a test won't be accurate until one week after your missed period

Yes, but more accurate results come from the first day of your missed period or later.  But I did test a week before my missed period and it came out positive.!  *Brittany* - Jason's Wife

Yes, you can.  

Most tests state that they can be used as early as the first day of your missed period which would generally be around 14 days after conception, but that is more because your period is the only way most period know  where they are in their cycle, and because we know the average HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels at that time, and can make tests to use at that point.

Several tests can be used 5 days, or more, before your period is due which would be about 9 days after conception.  If you get a negative result, you should always remember that it might just be too early and test again.  

I got a positive at only 7 days after conception with my first pregnancy!

If you get a positive result on a pregnancy test, yes.

If you get a negative, it's too early to trust. It takes most women longer than 11 days to build up enough hormones for the pregnancy test to detect.
