  1. Sure you can.

Different MOS require different security clearances.

But you are pre screened before you go in.

The extra steps to getting Secret and top secret clearance are not hard.

Just keep your nose clean and your 201 free of Art. 15's.

    You'll be fine!

    Thanks for serving.

  2. If you're a good boy for at least 10 years... maybe.

  3. you can TRY to get a Clearance at your next enlistment.  But in order to be given one, you have to be a the best at what your do in the meantime.. never get into trouble, be a model Soldier, do well on tests, etc.   but there are no guarantees that you will be allowed to cross train.  Needs of the military always take precedence.

Plus you still have to qualify via ASVAB line scores and physically for the MOS you want to change over to.

  4. That is a catch 22 there.  Not sure.  When I was getting mine, they screened my whole background, they even talked to my elementary school teachers and people from my neighborhood that would know me.  They contained a strict policy regarding me to obtain special compartmented information, TSI.  They screened everybody, asking if I were a troublesome kid, had incidents with the law, etc.  I wouldn't know about the 10-year waiting period like the other person answered.

  5. Juvenile records are sealed in most, if not every state.  They will only know what you tell them about your juvenile criminal activities, if any.  A good interviewer will get you to tell him or her more stuff than they could ever find out on their own.  Its not likely you will be assigned to some position requiring a very high level of security until later in your career.  By then, they already know everything about you.
