Question:

Can you learn how to do the splits at age 11?

i dont want to try anymore because i think i am to old to now learn how to do the spiltz . Or any other things that have to do with gymnastics except for a cartwheel

  1. of course!  i started when i was 9 and everyone else in the class was like 5, but im still doing it at 15.  ive learned alot and i even competed for a few years on the team.  now i do high school gymnastics and there are lots of people who joined the team who havent done any gymnastics before.  anyways, the point is, if you are committed, you can definitely learn how to do the splits.  just stretch every day.  you're not too old until like, 70.

  4. Nope my friend learned at 15...I'm gettin close and i'm 16....just a lot of stretching will help you do them...or you can do what my friend did..she just slid into the split....it hurt a lot after....but she knows how to do the splits now....

  5. 11 is too young  to give up!you can be 15 and learn how to do them. i am 13 and still trying to  achieve all three of them! dont think your a granny.

    (I actually don't know how to change my gender to a girl).

    Anyway, I just started to try doing the splits today.

    I do ballet and every in my ballet class does gym but me so I'm the least flexible.

  7. you're almost never too old to learn something new. I'm 17 and just learned to do the splits when I was 14 or 15. I had done ballet all my life and had that flexibility...but if you work really hard at it you too can achieve it. : )

    kids that are 3 or 4 can do them

    you just have to practice and work on them

    no age limit.

  10. YES! You can learn at almost any age. I am 12 and I am working on them right now! My dance teacher told me that if you stretch and do them as good as you can every night (before you go to bed) you can get them in two weeks! My dance teacher even tells the high school aged girls at dance that! I hope I helped!!

  11. yes of course, i learnt it wehn i was 13. its fine. you just need to practise it everyday and each day have a goal to make it better and better.

    ive always been able to just do splits on the floor, but i was like 13 or 14 before i was flexible enough to do full layout and legholds and stuff.

    now i can kick myself in the back of my head.but i dont know if thats really a good thing..
