My grandaughter bought me am ipod shuffle for Christmas. It's absolutely brilliant and actually sounds better than my car stereo. But is it actually legal to use whilst driving?

  1. yer man you can do wot ya wanna do as long as you don't get caught man. if you do the ya gonna need a bloody good lawyer.

  2. Yeah

  3. You cant flick through the songs although you can plug it in and just let it play that is legal

  4. So far as of this date they are still legal to use.

  5. its not illegal but its legal to the level that if you have a crash & they wanna point the finger at someone to blame, then it will be ahh he was using an ipod whilst driving............ !

the same as changing station on the radio or fiddling with a sat nav.

  6. If you were to listen via headphones then no it's not legal because you are blocking out the ambient sounds.

  7. It depends.  If you are listening through earphones, it is most certainly illegal, and it goes back a long time before the i-pod was invented.  It has long been illegal to listen to radio, tape, records, whatever, through headphones while driving.  It is dangerous, you cannot hear other traffic, or emergency vehicles.

  8. It is probably NOT legal to use your ipod with earphones while driving.  We have a stereo in our car that allows us to plug the ipod into the stereo amplifier and play it over the car's stereo speakers, just like you would a CD player.
