Question:

Can you level an Intex Pool after its been filled??

After filling our 16' X 4' intex pool the water level is off by 4 and a 1/4 inches, is there any way i can dig under the stakes to level it out to about 2 and 1/2 inches. P.S. how off can an intex pool before its a hazard

  1. It's a hazard now. The problem is that by trying to jimmy up the bottom rails and butresses, you'll lose the cove ( the little slope the sand bottom makes against the base of the pool wall inside the pool) and you run the risk of the liner tearing there. 4 1/2 inches is a heck of a lot to be out. The walls should have been checked at every upright using a transit to get it all level within 1/32 of an inch. It's not hard to do if you use the right tool ( that transit).

    Personally, I'd run the risk of draining the pool and removing the liner (carefully, since if it's just been a few days, you can save that liner. If it's been a month or more it gets risky because the vinyl starts to want to shrink when the pool water is removed), going to my local tool rental, rent a laser transit and properly level everything. Reinstall that liner and BEFORE you add water, check the wall level again with that transit.

    Having the sort of level you have now is both an eyesore and potentially a structural issue depending on what part of the pool is getting the extra leverage caused by the higher level of water pressing against that spot in the wall.
